These two films were created to aid communication between danish museums and the public, specifically when dealing with a construction project (“Byg med hensyn“) and what you do when you are a detector operator (“Søg med omtanke“).
GoodJobStudios: 1. wrote the script together with three archaeologists for two 40-second films, which conveyed what to do, in order to follow the danish museums law.
2. Then produced the two films myself (music, sound, hired voice actors).
Short animation commissioned by the Musikforlæggerne. GoodJobStudios created this animated explainer on how music reaches its market. Based on material, put together by Seismonaut, Henrik wrote the script and then designed, directed, animated, made sound and music. The project was initiated by https://seismonaut.com for the danish organisation for professional music publishers: musikforlaeggerne. Henrik created two versions. Shown here is the official version. To illustrate a diverse music market our intention was to bring multiple music genres into one composition, this can be view in the GJS deluxe version here: https://youtu.be/mg3Dwu3Y3pY. Projectmanager at Seismonaut : Andreas Linnet Jessen.
7 minute animated short film entirely made by Henrik Malmgren, released in 2010. Supported by Den Vestdanske Filmpulje and Open Workshop “In a socially deprived society, Elsa the widow gets her lonely dinner brutally interrupted, and she makes a decision that changes more than her own life, understanding that Paradise is lost without others.”
“The world around you is filled with bacteria. Some make you sick, but most of them are useful. Even though you can’t see them, collectively they weigh more than all plants and animals put together. They often live in symbiosis with other organisms, in fact even with you. Only 10% of your cells are your own – the rest are bacteria from over 700 different species of bacteria that live in and on your body. Most bacteria you host – up to 2 kilograms – live in your intestines. Together, you form a superorganism, which we call human.”
Educational animation commissioned by ED.TED.COM, explaining what’s actually making you feel sick. Designed, animated and directed by Henrik Malmgren. Made in co-operation with educator Marco A. Sotomayor and Frank G. Gress. Thanks to The Animation Workshop.
“Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer and cancer death in the world. It is also one of the most preventable types of cancer, as it often takes about ten years for a small polyp to grow and develop into a cancerous one. So who’s at risk? And how can people be screened? Amit H. Sachdev and Frank G. Gress share some of the best ways to prevent colon cancer.”
Late September at the Sci Vi Conference, in Viborg, Denmark, I talked a bit about my work for TED-ED, with Gerta Xhelo. The conference addressed “Visualization and animation in science dissemination”. More here: Sci Vi

These educational animations, were made by GoodJobStudios together with Søren Holm at forum100.dk, financed by The Danish Ministry of Health. The films (here edited into one) are used in danish schools in drug abuse prevention classes, and aims to be starters for discussion among the students about when one has a problem with hash. After each film the students are asked to judge how big of a hash problem the character in the film has, by positioning themselves on the floor on a scale from 1 to 6 (marked on the floor ); six meaning large problem.
